Message from the Dean - November 29, 2021

Hello,

Happy Monday after Thanksgiving, CALS colleagues! I hope you had some wonderful time off and a great Thanksgiving. The end of the semester is just a few short weeks away.

Our students are primed for finals, projects, holidays and a thousand new next steps. Let's help them along, including to still watch out for stress and other challenges. And let's watch out for each other, too. Please be extra diligent on your COVID precautions, as well, with so many people coming back to campus from near and far.

All the best for a great week! - Dan

Nature in Focus

Alison Parker, executive assistant to the dean, enjoyed some beach time and gorgeous sunsets while vacationing on Vieques Island in Puerto Rico earlier this month.

A huge #CALSthanks to those who donated food for students to take with them last week during break. At one point, the cart in the Curtiss Hall rotunda was even fuller than pictured! The items not claimed by students prior to Nov. 24 were brought to the SHOP - equating to a donation of approximately 170 pounds of food for the student-run organization.

If you didn't get a chance to donate food for our students, you can still do so by reaching out to Breanna Wetzler, SHOP adviser, to inquire about donations or you can make a financial gift to the SHOP through the FundISU webpage.

As always, please keep sharing your photos with me via email!
